Replacing missing teeth with dentures is a common practice in Dentistry. Denture teeth available nowadays are more convenient and appear more natural when compared to the false teeth set deployed in the earlier days. The dentures are custom made as per the impressions of the gums in order to fit efficiently in the mouth.

1) Swollen Gums

2) Difficulties in speaking

4) Jaw bone atrophy

5) Cheilitis and Stomatitis

Both cheilitis and stomatitis are caused due to the plethora of yeast in the mouth. When the dentures become loose, it makes the surrounding area wet. Yeast is generally inherited in the moist condition.

Thus the denture offers an opportunity for oral bacteria to proliferate yeast in the mouth.  You can identify this issue with redness under the upper denture.

Tips to handle ill-fitting denture problems

• When the denture teeth do not fit equally when closing the teeth, adjust the occlusion. If you encounter such inequality or loose denture teeth even after that, you need to modify the false teeth set.
• Switch to soft foods, taking smaller pieces of vegetables or fruits and eating slowly will be helpful when the denture becomes loose.
• Use both sides of your dentures to chew foods. This will help you to overcome moving dentures while eating.
• Consult your Dentist to get denture adhesives. The adhesives will help you to bond the denture to the roof of the mouth.
